SILVERWARE BAG MADE OUT OF FELT

The Islamic Feast of Sacrifice will be coming really soon. Certainly, you will spend these days with your family and friends surrounded by delicious food. For this occasion, I came up with the idea of making a special table decoration with thise cute silverware bag out of felt. It’s perfect for decorating a table in a festive look.

YOU NEED:

• dattelbeere craft kit ‘silverware bag’
• Felt plate (0,5 cm or 0.19 in thick)
• White colored pencil
• Scissors

PRINT OUT CRAFT KIT

The first thing you will need in order to begin crafting is the matching craft kit for this blog post. Either you download it as a file and print out all the elements at home or you use my new printing service. In case you don’t have a high-quality printer or high-quality paper, you can always just check out my shop and have the craft kit directly sent to you. Or even if you would just like to start on it without any major organizational effort.

CUT OUT THE TEMPLATE

At first, you cut the template out by following the lines around it. In order to cut out the delicate elements in the middle, using nail clippers works best.

MOVE OVER THE TEMPLATE

Now you move the template onto the felt plate. If you, like myself choose to use the darker felt plate, then you would need to take a lighter colored pencil.

A white colored pencil is perfect and makes you see the contours more clearer. Don’t forget the two parallel lines in the middle. This is where the knives and forks will be tucked into.

CUT OUT THE FELT PLATE

Now you just need to cut out the felt plate. For this, the best thing to use is sharp nail clippers.

At the end, you also make an incision on the parallel lines.

Depending on how many guests you are expecting, you make as many as silverware bags you are needing so that each guest receives their own.

COVERING THE TABLE

Now it’s time to cover the table. The table gets festively prepared. For this, you tuck knife and fork into the parallel cutted sections. In case you want to include a spoon, all you need to do is make the incision longer.

DONE!

Your creative and really simple and quick crafted table decoration is done. You can get felt plates for really cheap at the arts & crafts stores but also online. I have picked out a variation for you here.
